Anna Griggs

Anna Griggs, age 87, a resident of Bloomfield Hills since 1952, formerly of Royal Oak, died May 25, 2009 at her home. She was born December 26, 1921 in Detroit. Mrs. Griggs was a tax accountant for many years. She loved gardening, collecting coins for her grandsons and decorating for Christmas. She is survived by her children, Gerry Griggs and Linda Thomas Burke Griggs; siblings, Betty A. Potvin, Frank Millie Curatolo and sister-in-law Sue Curatolo; grandchildren, Steven E. Burke and Joseph T. Burke; and aunt, Catherine Bailey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Griggs, whom she married on January 30, 1943 in Detroit; parents, Peter and Elizabeth Curatolo; siblings, Josephine Novak, Tony Curatolo and brother-in-law Tony Novak; and aunt, Jen Campbell. The visitation will be Saturday 12:30 p.m. until the time of service 4 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak, with the Rev. Thomas Slowinski officiating. The family suggests potted flowering perennials to be planted in Anna's garden or contributions to Gilda's Club Metro Detroit, 3517 Rochester Road, Royal Oak, MI 48073.
