Anna Jean D'Amico, age 84, of Seabrook, TX, formerly of Berkley, died November 19, 2008, in Texas. She was born April 30, 1924, in River Rouge, to the late Albert Jay and Margaret O'Halloran Ashton. Mrs. D'Amico lived in Berkley from 1950 until she moved to Texas in 1997. She has made her residence with her daughter, Marilyn Newell, since then. Mrs. D'Amico was an avid golfer, bowler and loved to work with her flowers in her garden and working with stained glass. She is survived by her children, Marilyn Charles Newell of Seabrook, TX, Daniel Ann D'Amico of Concord, NC, Richard Saja D'Amico of Libertyville, IL, Jean George Williams of Thompson Station, TN and Albert Maria D'Amico of Bothell, WA; siblings, Gail Richardson and Carol Montiville; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; and her dear caregiver and loving friend since 1995, Loraine Pinnock. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfonse J. D'Amico, on March 16, 1997. The couple wed November 20, 1943, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada; and siblings, Patricia Mullins, Charles "Ted" Ashton, James Ashton, Daniel Ashton and Mary Woltz. Memorial visitation will be Friday, December 5th, 2-8 p.m. at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Rd. 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. A memorial mass will be held Saturday, December 6th, 10 a.m. at National Shrine of the Little Flower, Royal Oak. Inurnment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Detroit.
