Ann M. Watson, age 99, a 65 year resident of Royal Oak, died peacefully at her home on December 20, 2013. Born Ann Margaret LaBerge, November 6, 1914, in Alpena, Michigan, she was the youngest of the four children of James Roual LaBerge and Mary Blanche Kinney LaBerge. Her family settled in East Tawas, Michigan where she was raised. Ann is the granddaughter of Malachi Kinney and Ellen Welsh Kinney, blacksmiths and pioneer settlers of Grand Rapids. Ann was the matriarch of a very large and extended family and brought joy to everyone around her. She was registered nurse who retired from Mt. Carmel Hospital in Detroit. She continued to volunteer at William Beaumont Hospital well into her 80's. Ann's life revolved around her family and beloved St. Mary's Church of Royal Oak, Michigan. Dearest mother of Nancy Kerry Clark, Mary Hartman, Kathleen Patrick Neighbors, Charles Gaetane, James Connie, and Jane Levell. 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband Arthur F. Watson, a son Arthur F. Watson, Jr., and daughter-in-law Kathleen Pug Kayl Watson. Visitation Sunday, December 22, 2013 from 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Wm Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. Eleven Mile Road, Royal Oak, Michigan 48067. In state Monday 9:30 AM until time of funeral Mass 10:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 730 S. Lafayette Avenue, Royal Oak, MI. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield, Michigan.
