Ann Wright Cushing, age 71, of Pleasant Ridge since 1966, formerly of Royal Oak, died Thursday, October 23, 2008, at St. Anne's Mead in Southfield. She was born November 2, 1936, in Urbana, IL. Mrs. Cushing graduated from Decatur High School in 1954, attended MacMurray College in Jacksonville, IL and then graduated from Millikin University in 1958. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi and the D.A.R. She taught at St. Mary Elementary School in Royal Oak for many years. She is survived by her husband, Donald Cushing; her mother, Hazel Spalding Wright of Decatur, IL; children, David H. Pam Cushing of Kalamazoo and Timothy Alexandra Cushing of Howell; sister, Karen Francis Noonan of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Sean, Vincent and Juliana; and seven nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Cushing; and her father, George Wright. Visitation Sunday 4-9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Rd. 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. In state Monday 9:30 a.m. until time of mass 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Royal Oak. The Rev. Kenneth Kaucheck will officiate. Inurnment will be in Empire, MI.
