Anita Mosesso was born in Detroit, MI on August 21, 1917. She grew up in Tarentum, PA with her three brothers and two sisters on a 32 acre farm. Her stories of life there were always a treat to hear. She attended Tarentum High School for three years and excelled in her subjects. After the family's move back to Detroit she graduated from Eastern High School at the top of her class and received a scholarship to business school, which had to be declined because of family financial needs and went to work as a secretary in an advertising firm. She met and dated Michael Mosesso and they married on January 20, 1940 at Annunciation Church in Detroit. They lived in Detroit until 1945 and then moved to Royal Oak, where she stayed until 2009. During her 60 years of marriage she was a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Ten children, 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren were spread across the country. Visits to their homes and visits from them were highlights for her. Even with all of her children, she volunteered her time and talent. She was always doing something for school, church, friends and neighbors and was the "snow shovel queen" on Mohawk for years clearing sidewalks for the widows on the street. Working in her gardens was one of her favorite past times. She loved her flowers and her canned vegetables, sauces and juices were staples for years. Her cherry pies with fruit from the backyard tree were delicious. Anita enjoyed playing Scrabble and was hard to beat. Crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles were always in evidence. She was a very special lady to many people in her 94 years. Fond memories will fill the empty space she leaves behind. She is survived by her children, Marie John Reinhardt of Wiscasset, ME, Alfonso M. Janice Mosesso of Auburn Hills, Patricia Robert McCardy of Troy, Jean Dennis Tepper of Tavares, FL, John Suzanne Mosesso of Vienna, VA, Christine Thomas Wagner of Charlevoix, Thomas Maureen Mosesso of Belgium, James Mary Mosesso of South Lyon, Margaret Mark Ashcraft of Trumansburg, NY and Michael Mosesso of Tucson, AZ; 19 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael J. Mosesso, on May 7, 2000; and her daughter-in-law, Linda Mosesso. There will be visitation Wednesday, August 1st, from 2-8 p.m. with an evening rosary at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak.
