Andrew John Rasmussen

   Andy was born on May 21, 1962 in Rushville, Nebraska to Brant and Moneen Rasmussen, the second of four children.  He attended school in Rushville, graduating in 1980.  He worked at the Jim Wellnitz Ranch while he was in high school.

   For a few months after graduating, Andy worked at Henkens Implement in Chadron, after which he ventured to Wyoming where almost immediately he obtained work with Western Production. Western Production was later bought by Black Hills Energy, Andy work there for 35 years.   He was a rig hand at first; then became a crude oil truck driver.  In 2015, after many years of hard work and rough oil field roads, Andy went on disability due to back injuries.

   In 1996, Andy met Deb Sewell in Newcastle.  They made their home there for 26 years until his death on May 17, 2023, (just four days before his 61st birthday).  Andy's life was cut short due to declining health issues.  

   He is survived by his best friend, Deb Sewell, his two daughters, Andrea (Matt) Crouse & Alicia (Wynn) Ramage, his mother, Moneen, sister, Anita ( Anthony) Janssen, brother, Tony (Brenda) Rasmussen, granddaughter Madilynn Crouse, grandsons Samuel Crouse & Henry Ramage, his cat, Mikey, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

   Predeceasing Andy in death were his father, Brant, his younger brother, Alex, niece, Kassie, grandparents, Anton & Edna Rasmussen and John & Marie Clements.

   Graveside services will be held for Andy at the Greenwood Cemetery in Newcastle on June 22 at 1pm followed by a reception at the VFW Hall. Condolences can be sent to the Meridian Mortuary; 111 South Railway Avenue; Newcastle, WY 82701.  In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates donations to Andy’s Memorial Fund.
