Mrs. Williams died Saturday, April 11th at Weston County Health Services following an illness of several months.
She was born January 7, 1930 on the family ranch near Osage, Wyoming the daughter of George Winfield and Matilda Tillie Mae Bock Sewell. Alice attended schools in Osage and Newcastle graduating from high school at The Brown School for Girls in Glendora, California on June 9, 1948. She then attended dental nurses training in San Francisco, California graduating April 14, 1949. She returned to Newcastle where she was employed by local dentist Dr. Ed Landrigan for a brief time. On June 6, 1951 she married David H. Williams in Billings, Montana.
Alice was a friend to all, a grandma not only to her grandkids, but to all their friends as well. She was a nurturer in every sense of the word, a mentor to some, and a wonderful prayer warrior for others. She would lend an ear to anyone with a problem and always made time if you just happened to stop by. The dining room table was home to many friends and relatives throughout the years. No matter what the occasion, she was always ready with a cup of coffee, a good snack and lots of laughter. When she made a friend, they were lifetime friends. She always made time to drop a line to just say hello. Birthdays were her specialty; lots of people were blessed with a cake from Alice. She was dependable, compassionate, and caring. She considered Jesus to be her best friend and would sing about him often. Her home was filled with her singing and the delicious smells of her cooking. Among her many hobbies were gardening, cooking and reading her bible were on the top of the list, and of course there was Deadwood!
Surviving her is her husband of Newcastle; daughter Jenelle John Larsen of Newcastle; four sons, Mike Connie Williams of Osage, Mark Williams of The Dalles, Oregon, Jeff Michelle Williams and Travis Williams both of Newcastle. Also surviving is a brother Samuel Sewell of Newcastle and sister Mildred Hayden of Gillette, Wyoming; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
