Alice Jaeger

Alice Elizabeth Jaeger, age 89, a resident of Royal Oak since 1953, formerly of Ferndale, died September 13, 2010 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. She was born September 11, 1921 in Detroit. Mrs. Jaeger enjoyed spending time with family, playing Euchre, traveling, listening to music, reading romantic novels and watching "Dancing with the Stars". She was an avid square dancer in her younger days. She had a general love for life. She was a loving and warm wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and a wonderful homemaker. She was a genuine, sincere and loving person who will be missed. Mrs. Jaeger is survived by her children, Barbara A. Richard Schillinger of Hartland, Karen A. Len Akers of Thousand Oaks, CA and Christine A. Randy Ross of Burnsville, MN; daughter-in-law, Ellen E. Jaeger of Royal Oak; sister, Marion Lehto of Rochester Hills; grandchildren, Matt Carmen Jaeger, Sara Corey Roediger, Ian Ross, Alex Akers, Corey Ross and Lindsey Akers; great granddaughter, Madelyn Anne Jaeger; and her loving cat, Arlo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Jaeger, Jr., on November 1, 2001. The couple married September 11, 1942 at Epiphany Lutheran Church in Detroit. She was also predeceased by her son, Paul A. Jaeger, on April 24, 2009. The visitation will be Wednesday 4-8 p.m. and Thursday 2-8 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. The service will be Friday 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Paul Gateman of Zion Lutheran Church in Ferndale officiating. The burial will take place at Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak.
