Alice Cushman

Alice G. Cushman, age 87, a resident of Ferndale, formerly of Oak Park for more than 50 years, died October 2, 2009 in Ferndale. She was born October 31, 1921 in Posen, MI. Her family described her as a gentle loving soul; a mother to everyone Pied Piper of children. She was a woman of many talents. She is survived by her children, Carol Robert Hammill, Janice Charles Lambert, Chris Diane Cushman, Mary James Haddock, Elaine Gerald Mowat and Linda the late William Kotlarek; 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Cushman, in February 2001; and her son, Alan Cushman. The visitation will be held on Monday 2-8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Mrs. Cushman will lie in state Tuesday 9:30 a.m. until time of mass 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Oak Park, with the Rev. Paul Chateau officiating.
