Alice Carpenter

Alice Bertha Carpenter, age 94, a resident of Warren, passed away March 16, 2014 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. She was born September 30, 1919 in Detroit to the late Charles and Selma Schrader. Mrs. Carpenter lived in Utica most of her life and was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Utica. She was a caregiver to many children over the years. She also loved flowers, birds and travelling. She was the beloved wife of the late Evertt Carpenter, whom she married May 30, 1939 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Center Line; loving mother of David F. Donna Carpenter; proud grandmother of Donald Julie Carpenter and Daniel Jennifer Carpenter; great grandmother of Zachary, Abigail, Evie, C.J. and Emmett; dear sister of the late Beatrice Carpenter, Clarence Schrader and Donald Schrader; and aunt of Dennis Carpenter and Debbie Hatcher among others. The visitation will be Wednesday 2 p.m. until the time of the service 6 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blocks E of Woodward, Royal Oak, with the Rev. Thomas Scherger officiating. The burial will take place at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East in Clinton Township.
