Alfons Rigole

RIGOLE, Alfons K. Age 93, of Macomb Township died Sunday, December 3, 2006, in Joseph Medical Center, Clinton Township, Michigan. He was born April 17, 1913, in Roeselare, Belgium. Mr. Rigole was a truck farmer, selling produce from his farms on Romeo Plank Road and at 18 Mile and Utica roads in Sterling Heights. He was awarded the Detroit Metropolitan Fruit and Produce Industry Honor Award in 1978. He married Rachel on February 14, 1947, in Belgium. He also was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church and St. Lawrence Knights of Columbus. Mr. Rigole is survived by his wife, Rachel; children, Roger Kay Rigole of Armada, and Annie Elston Colvert of Washington Township. His siblings: Roger Agnes Viane Rigole, Yvonne Dunslaeger and Maria Verfaile, all of Belgium; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother and one sister. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 5th from 2:00p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road, Utica, Michigan. Wednesday, December 6th, his funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 18201 23 Mile Road NW corner of 23 Mile and Romeo PlankMacomb Township; he will lie in state 9:30 a.m. until time of mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Davis Cemetery, Ray Township, Michigan.
